FC Den Bosch is a football club from the city of ['s-Hertogenbosch]] in the Netherlands. They are often called De blauwwitte draken, which means The Blue White Dragons. The club currently plays in the Eerste Divisie, which is the second-highest football league in the Netherlands.

The club was started on August 18, 1965. It took over from two older clubs, BVV (formed in 1906) and Wilhelmina (formed in 1890). Their home stadium is called 'De Vliert'. It can hold about 6,936 fans. A very famous football player, Ruud van Nistelrooy, began his professional career at FC Den Bosch.

History of FC Den Bosch

Den Bosch League Performance
Historical chart of league performance

FC Den Bosch was founded in 1965. They quickly won the Tweede Divisie B (a lower league) in their first season. In 1967, they joined with another club, Wilhelmina, to become F.C. Den Bosch '67.

The team kept getting better. In the 1970–71 season, they won the Eerste Divisie and moved up to the Eredivisie. This was the highest league in Dutch football! They stayed in the Eredivisie for two seasons. After that, they went back down to the Eerste Divisie.

In the 1980s, FC Den Bosch worked hard to get back to the top league. They almost made it in the 1980–81 season. But they finally won the promotion play-offs in the 1982–83 season. This meant they were back in the Eredivisie! For a few years, they played well, even finishing 6th twice. This was close to qualifying for European competitions. However, they were relegated again in the 1989–90 season. The club's name also changed to B.V.V. Den Bosch in 1988.

Over the years, FC Den Bosch moved between the Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie several times. They won the Eerste Divisie championship three times: in 1998–99, 2000–01, and 2003–04. But each time, they were later relegated back to the Eerste Divisie. In 1992, the club changed its name back to FC Den Bosch.

In 2018, a businessman named Kakhi Jordania wanted to invest in the club. The team had a great season, even finishing as "winter champions" in the Eerste Divisie. They made it to the promotion play-offs but didn't get promoted. In the end, the Dutch football association (KNVB) did not approve the new ownership.

In 2019, during a match, there was an incident involving a player from another team. The club later apologized for their first statements about it. This event led to a protest against racism in Dutch football. Players in the top two leagues decided not to play for the first minute of their games to show their stand against racism. FC Den Bosch also banned some supporters from attending games.

In 2021, a group of investors, including Pacific Media Group and Chien Lee, bought a majority share of the club. In April 2024, new investors took over this share.
