Georgina Alice Campbell (born on June 12, 1992) is an English actress. She is well-known for her roles in TV shows and movies. In 2015, she won a special award called the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress. She won it for her role in the TV film Murdered by My Boyfriend (2014). This made her the first Black actress and the first non-white actress to win this award.
Georgina has also appeared in many other popular TV series. These include Flowers (2016), Broadchurch (2017), and an episode of Black Mirror called "Hang the DJ" (2017). She also starred in Krypton (2018) and The Pale Horse (2020).
She started acting in films with a small part in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017). Later, she took on bigger roles in movies like Barbarian (2022), Bird Box Barcelona (2023), and The Watchers (2024). Georgina Campbell was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Her birthday is June 12, 1992. Her mother is English and used to be a teacher. Her father is Jamaican and works as a police officer. Georgina is the middle child of three daughters.
After her parents separated, she mostly grew up with her mother and stepfather. They lived in Dartford, Kent. She spent her younger years in a place called Wilmington.
Georgina went to Royal Holloway, University of London. She studied Film Studies and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2014.
Career Highlights
Starting Her Acting Journey (2009–2021)
When Georgina was 16, someone noticed her on the street. This led to her first acting job as Lucy in a web series called Freak in 2009. After that, she had small roles in several TV shows. These included Casualty, Holby City, Doctors, and Death in Paradise.
Georgina was 22 years old when she won the prestigious BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress. This was for her role as Ashley Jones in the BBC Three TV film Murdered by My Boyfriend (2014). This win was very important because she was the first Black actress and the first non-white actress to receive this award.
In 2015, Georgina starred as Jasmine in the Sky 1 comedy-drama After Hours. She also had a main role in the TV mini-series Tripped (2015). She appeared in the BBC drama One of Us (2016) and the Channel 4 comedy Flowers (2016).
In 2017, she made her first appearance in a movie. It was a small role in Guy Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. That same year, she played DC Katie Harford in the ITV drama Broadchurch. She also appeared in the popular show Black Mirror, in the episode "Hang the DJ". In 2018, she started playing Lyta-Zod in the Syfy drama series Krypton. In 2019, she was in one episode of HBO's fantasy drama His Dark Materials.

In 2022, Georgina starred in the horror film Barbarian. This movie was praised by critics and did very well at the box office.
In 2023, she co-starred in the horror thriller Bird Box Barcelona. She also appeared in the sci-fi thriller T.I.M. and the horror film Lovely, Dark, and Deep.
In 2024, Georgina Campbell co-starred in the supernatural horror film The Watchers. This movie was directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan.
