Georgina Jolibois was born in 1968. She is a Canadian politician from La Loche, Saskatchewan. She became a Member of Parliament (MP) in 2015. An MP is someone elected to represent a specific area in the Canadian Parliament.
Before becoming an MP, Jolibois was the mayor of her hometown, La Loche, for twelve years. She also worked with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to help Indigenous communities.
One of her important actions as an MP was trying to make National Indigenous Peoples Day a legal holiday. While her bill didn't pass, a similar idea later became a holiday called National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day is now celebrated every September 30.

Early Life and Public Service
Georgina Jolibois grew up in La Loche, Saskatchewan. This area is close to the Clearwater River Dene First Nation. She studied at the University of Saskatchewan.
From 2003 to 2015, Jolibois served as the mayor of La Loche. This means she was the leader of her town's government. She also worked with the Saskatchewan Association of Northern Communities. In 2015, she was elected to the Canadian Parliament. She represented the area called Desnethé—Missinippi—Churchill River.
Becoming a Member of Parliament
In 2015, Georgina Jolibois decided to run in the 2015 Canadian federal election. She wanted to represent the New Democratic Party in the Desnethé—Missinippi—Churchill River area. This large area covers much of northern Saskatchewan. It includes many small towns, First Nation reserves, and remote communities.
Jolibois won her election by a very close margin. She defeated the previous MP, Rob Clarke. After a recount, it was confirmed that she won by 82 votes. This showed how much support she had from the people in her riding.
Later Elections
Georgina Jolibois tried to be re-elected in the 2019 Canadian federal election. However, she was defeated by Gary Vidal, a candidate from the Conservative Party.
In 2021, Jolibois ran in another election. This was a special election for the Athabasca by-election in Saskatchewan. She was the candidate for the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party. She lost this election to Jim Lemaigre.
