Gerald Rashard Everett (born June 25, 1994) is an American professional football player. He plays as a tight end, which is a player who can both block for runners and catch passes. Gerald played college football for several teams, including the Bethune–Cookman Wildcats and South Alabama Jaguars. He was chosen by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2017 NFL draft. He has also played for the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Chargers, and Chicago Bears.

Early Life and Sports
Gerald Rashard Everett was born on June 25, 1994, in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up playing different sports at Gresham Park Recreation Complex. He went to Columbia High School in Decatur, Georgia.
Gerald was a talented athlete. He played high school basketball for three seasons and also ran track. He didn't start playing football until his senior year of high school.
College Football Journey
Gerald Everett started his college football journey at Hutchinson Community College in 2013. In 2014, he played for the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). When the UAB football program was temporarily stopped, he moved to the University of South Alabama in 2015.
He played for the South Alabama Jaguars football team from 2015 to 2016. During his two years at South Alabama, he caught 41 passes for 575 yards and scored eight touchdowns in his junior year. He was recognized as one of the best players in the Sun Belt Conference. In his senior year, he had 49 catches for 717 yards and four touchdowns.

Starting Professional Career
Before the NFL draft, Gerald Everett was invited to the Senior Bowl, a special game where top college players show their skills to professional teams. He also attended the NFL Combine, where athletes perform various physical tests. Experts thought he would be picked in the second or third round of the draft.
Joining the Los Angeles Rams
In the 2017 NFL draft, the Los Angeles Rams chose Gerald Everett in the second round as the 44th overall pick. He was the first player ever drafted from the University of South Alabama.
First Seasons with the Rams (2017-2018)
Gerald made his NFL debut in the Rams' first game of the 2017 season. He caught his first NFL pass, a long 39-yard throw, in a big win against the Indianapolis Colts. Later that season, he scored his first NFL touchdown. He finished his rookie year with 16 catches for 244 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2018, Gerald played a key role in a very exciting game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He caught two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, helping the Rams win 54–51. That season, he had 33 catches for 320 yards and three touchdowns. He also played in Super Bowl LIII with the Rams.
Later Years with the Rams (2019-2020)
During the 2019 season, Gerald had his first game with over 100 receiving yards against the Seattle Seahawks. He finished the season with 37 catches for 408 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2020, Gerald scored his first career rushing touchdown in a game against the New York Giants. He played in 16 games that season, catching 41 passes for 417 yards and one touchdown.
Moving to the Seattle Seahawks (2021)
In March 2021, Gerald Everett signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks. He played in 15 games and started 12 of them. He had a career-high 48 catches for 478 yards and scored four touchdowns, showing his growing importance as a tight end.
Time with the Los Angeles Chargers (2022-2023)
Gerald then signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers in March 2022. In the 2022 season, he played in 16 games and started 11. He set new personal bests with 58 catches and 555 receiving yards, and he scored four touchdowns again. In a playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he had a great performance with six catches for 109 yards and a touchdown. In the 2023 season, he played in 13 games, starting 10, and caught 46 passes for 376 yards and three touchdowns.
Joining the Chicago Bears (2024)
In March 2024, Gerald Everett signed a two-year contract with the Chicago Bears. He played in 17 games for the Bears, starting four of them. He had eight catches for 36 yards during the 2024 season. He was released by the Bears in February 2025.
