Gerald Rashard Everett is an American professional football player. He was born on June 25, 1994. He plays as a tight end for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football at South Alabama. The Los Angeles Rams chose him in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft.

Early Life and High School Sports
Gerald Everett grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. He went to Columbia High School in Decatur, Georgia. As a kid, he played youth sports at Gresham Park Recreation Complex.
He was a talented athlete in high school. He played high school basketball for three seasons. He also ran track for his school team, the Eagles. Interestingly, he didn't start playing football until his senior year of high school.
College Football Journey
Gerald Everett's college football path was quite interesting. He first attended Hutchinson Community College in 2013. Then, in 2014, he went to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
After the UAB football program closed down, he moved to the University of South Alabama in 2015. There, he played for coach Joey Jones's South Alabama Jaguars football team. He played for them during the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
Everett's Performance at South Alabama
During his two years at South Alabama, Gerald Everett showed great skill.
- In 2015, he caught 41 passes for 575 yards. He also scored eight touchdowns.
- His excellent play earned him a spot on the first-team All-Sun Belt list as a junior.
- In 2016, his senior year, he had 49 catches for 717 yards and four touchdowns.

Becoming a Professional Football Player
Before the NFL draft, Gerald Everett was invited to the Senior Bowl. This game helps show off college players to NFL teams. He caught one pass for six yards in the game.

Rookie Season Highlights (2017)
Gerald Everett made his NFL debut against the Indianapolis Colts. He caught his first NFL pass, a 39-yard throw from quarterback Jared Goff. The Rams won that game 46–9. In his next game, he caught three passes for 95 yards against the Washington Redskins.
On October 15, 2017, he scored his first NFL touchdown. It was a four-yard catch from Jared Goff against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He finished his first year with 16 catches for 244 yards and two touchdowns. He also played in his first playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Continued Success with the Rams (2018-2020)
In 2018, Everett played a big role in a high-scoring game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He caught two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, helping the Rams win 54–51. That season, he had 33 catches for 320 yards and three touchdowns. He also played in the NFC Championship game, helping the Rams win against the New Orleans Saints. He played in Super Bowl LIII but the Rams lost to the New England Patriots.
In 2019, he had his first game with over 100 receiving yards. He caught passes for 136 yards against the Seattle Seahawks. For the season, he had 37 catches for 408 yards and two touchdowns.
In 2020, Everett scored his first career rushing touchdown. This happened in a game against the New York Giants. He finished the 2020 season with 41 catches for 417 yards and one touchdown.
