Key Moments in His NBA Career

The Famous Steal in the 1984 NBA Finals

Gerald Henderson is especially remembered for an amazing play in Game 2 of the 1984 NBA Finals. This was a big game between the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. With only 13 seconds left, the Celtics were down by two points.

Henderson stole a pass from Lakers star James Worthy. He then quickly dribbled down the court and made a layup, tying the game! The Celtics went on to win that game in overtime. This play was a huge moment in the series.

Winning the 1990 NBA Championship

Henderson also played a key role in the 1990 NBA Finals when he was with the Detroit Pistons. In Game 4, the Pistons were playing against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Pistons were ahead by just one point.

With only a second left, Henderson made a fast-break layup. This pushed the Pistons' lead to three points. The Trail Blazers tried a last-second shot, but it was too late. The Pistons won that game and went on to win the championship. This was Henderson's third NBA title!
