Playing in the NBA and Overseas
Gerald Madkins played in the NBA. He joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1993 and played with them until 1994. Later, in 1998, he briefly played for the Golden State Warriors.
He also played in another league called the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He played for teams like the Grand Rapids Hoops and the Rockford Lightning. In 1993, he was named the CBA Rookie of the Year while playing for the Hoops. This award goes to the best new player in the league. In 1998, he was chosen for the All-CBA First Team. This means he was one of the best players in the CBA that year. Gerald also played basketball in other countries, including Spain and France.
From Player to Basketball Executive

In 2012, the Los Angeles Clippers hired him. He became their director of basketball operations. This role helps manage the team's daily activities. In 2014, he was named Director of Scouting for the Clippers. He later received a promotion. Before the 2015–16 season, he became an assistant general manager for the Clippers.
