Gerald Madkins Jr. (born April 18, 1969) is an American basketball executive. He is also a former professional basketball player. He was an assistant general manager for the New York Knicks in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Early Life and College Years

Gerald Madkins was born in Merced, California. He went to Merced High School in his hometown. After high school, he attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins from 1987 to 1992.

Gerald Madkins played professional basketball for several years. He was a shooting guard.

Madkins also played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA).

  • He played for the Grand Rapids Hoops.
  • In 1993, he was named the CBA Rookie of the Year while with the Hoops.

  • On September 24, 2012, Madkins was hired by the Los Angeles Clippers. He became their director of basketball operations.
  • In June 2014, he was named Director of Scouting for the Clippers. This was part of a team restructuring.
  • Before the 2015–16 season, he was promoted to assistant general manager for the Clippers.
