About the California Cranesbill
The California cranesbill is a perennial herb. This means it lives for more than two years. It can grow to be over half a meter tall, which is about 20 inches.
What Does It Look Like?
This plant has thin stems that are a bit hairy. Its leaves are wide and shaped like a hand, with several parts. These parts are then divided into smaller sections.
The flowers usually grow alone or in pairs on small stalks. Each flower has five pointed sepals. Sepals are like small leaves that protect the flower bud. Above these sepals are five rounded petals. Sometimes, the petals have small notches at their ends.
The petals can be up to 1.5 centimeters long, which is about half an inch. They are usually white, pale pink, or light lavender. You might also see darker lavender lines, like veins, on the petals.
