Germán Sánchez's Racing Journey
Starting in Formula Three
Germán Sánchez began his car racing adventure when he was just sixteen years old in 2006. He joined the Spanish Formula Three Championship. At first, he drove an older car for a team called Escuela Profiltek. This meant he could also compete in a special part of the championship called the Copa de España.
Germán was amazing in the Copa de España! He won seven out of fifteen races and finished on the podium (top three) three other times. This helped him win the Copa de España title. He also earned points in the main championship, finishing 13th overall.
In the 2007 season, Germán moved to a new team, Campos Racing, and focused on the main Spanish Formula Three Championship. He continued to show his talent, winning two races at tracks like Albacete and Jerez. He also got two third-place finishes, ending the season in fourth place overall.
His best year in Formula Three was the 2008 season. Still with Campos Racing, Germán won four races! He won at Albacete again, and also at the new Valencia Street Circuit. These wins, plus another at Magny-Cours and the Circuit de Valencia, helped him win the Spanish Formula Three Championship title. It was a very close race for the championship, but Germán came out on top!
Moving to Formula Two
After his success in Formula Three, Germán Sánchez moved up to the FIA Formula Two Championship in 2009. This was a big step up to an even faster and more competitive series. He drove car number 27.
Even though he missed some races, Germán showed his speed. He managed to finish in eighth place twice at the Imola track in Italy. Overall, he finished 24th in the championship that year.
