Geuensee is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the canton of Lucerne in Switzerland. It's part of the Sursee district.

History of Geuensee

Geuensee has a long history! It was first mentioned in old writings way back in the years 1217 to 1222. Back then, its name was written as de Geînwison.

Geuensee covers an area of about 6.47 square kilometers (2.5 square miles). A big part of this land, about 70.9%, is used for farming. Forests cover another 14.4% of the area.

About 13.8% of Geuensee is built up with buildings and roads. The remaining small part, 0.3%, includes natural features like rivers. Geuensee is located in a valley known as the Suhrental.

The municipality includes the main village of Geuensee. It also has two smaller communities, called hamlets, named Krummbach and Hunzikon.
