Gibson's Railroad Story

Gibson holds a special place in Oklahoma's history. It was home to the very first train station built for both passengers and freight. This important station was constructed in 1872. At that time, the area was known as Indian Territory, before Oklahoma became a state. The Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad built this station. It played a big role in helping people and goods travel across the land during those early days.
