Gideon Okeke is a talented Nigerian actor, model, and TV presenter. He first became famous in 2006. This was when he appeared as a contestant on the very first season of Big Brother Nigeria. In 2008, Gideon joined the cast of the popular M-NET TV show Tinsel. He has been a regular on that show ever since.

Early Life and Education

Gideon is an only child. He grew up in Ajegunle, which is a busy area in Lagos. He often talks about this place with great fondness. He went to Nnamdi Azikiwe University where he studied applied biochemistry. Later, he went to the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York. There, he received special training to become a professional actor.

Television Work

After being on Big Brother Nigeria, Gideon joined the cast of the M-NET daytime series Tinsel. He plays Phillip Ade Williams, the proud son of a powerful media boss. He is one of the actors who has been on the show the longest. Gideon has also appeared on the South African TV series Jacobs Cross.

In 2014, he played Bernard in the irokotv series Poisoned Bait. This show was directed by Leila Djansi, who won a BAFTA LA award. Gideon also hosted the DSTV game show Money Drop.

Film Roles

Gideon got his first main role in a Nigerian movie in 2010. It was a drama called Relentless. He acted alongside stars like Jimmy Jean-Louis and Nneka Egbuna. His second main role was in the 2014 crime thriller A Place in the Stars.

In the same year, he played Tobena in the romantic comedy When Love Happens. Tobena was the love interest of the main character. Other movies he has been in include the crime comedy Gbomo Gbomo Express and the Ghanaian romantic drama Anniversary. In 2016, he was in the drama thriller 93 Days. He acted with Danny Glover in this film. Gideon was nominated for an AMVCA award for his role as Dr. Morris Ibeawuchi. Dr. Ibeawuchi was one of the doctors who survived the Nigerian Ebola crisis.

Gideon has performed in many plays on stage. These include Fractures, which was based on Arthur Miller's play A View From The Bridge. He also played Fela Kuti in Fela... Arrest The Music. This musical celebrates the amazing talent of the Nigerian Afrobeat music legend. Gideon is also part of the cast for Saro The Musical 2. This musical is currently touring in London.

Personal Life

Gideon is a single dad. He has a daughter who was born in March 2016.
