Gideon Charles Ray (born May 27, 1973) is an American former professional mixed martial artist. He competed in major fighting organizations like the UFC and the IFL. Gideon Ray was also a contestant on the TV show The Ultimate Fighter 4. He fought professionally from 2000 to 2012.

Fighting in the UFC
Gideon Ray made his debut in the UFC at UFC 51 in February 2005. He faced David Loiseau from Canada. The fight ended in the first round when the doctor stopped it.
After winning another fight outside the UFC, Ray returned to the organization. He fought Mike Swick at UFC Ultimate Fight Night. Mike Swick won quickly in just 22 seconds.
Even after these tough fights, Gideon Ray kept going. He won four out of five regional fights. This success led him to try out for The Ultimate Fighter 4. He earned a spot on the show.

The Ultimate Fighter is a reality TV show where fighters live and train together. They compete in a tournament to win a UFC contract. In his quarterfinal fight, Gideon Ray faced Edwin Dewees. The fight was very close and went to a third round. It was known as one of the bloodiest fights in the show's history. Ray lost the fight by a small decision from the judges.
Later, at The Ultimate Fighter: The Comeback Finale, Ray fought Charles McCarthy. McCarthy won the fight in the first round using an armbar submission.
Joining the IFL
After his time in the UFC, Gideon Ray joined the IFL. He fought for the Toronto Dragons team. His first IFL fight was in April 2007. He won by TKO in the first round.
His next fight was against Delson Heleno in June 2007. Heleno won by a submission called a keylock. They had a rematch later that year. Heleno won again, this time with an armbar submission in the first round.
Later Fights
After leaving the IFL, Gideon Ray continued to fight in other promotions. He competed in 10 more fights before retiring in 2012. He ended his career with a total of 17 wins, 15 losses, and 1 draw.
