Gilmar Silva Santos, known simply as Gilmar, is a talented Brazilian football player. He was born on March 9, 1984, in a place called Ubatã, Brazil. Gilmar plays as an attacking midfielder, which means he helps create scoring chances for his team. He currently plays for Itumbiara.
Gilmar joined the French team EA Guingamp after a really good season in 2008-2009 with Náutico. In 2010, Guingamp loaned him to a Brazilian team called Prudente so he could play in Brazil's top league.

Gilmar's Football Journey
Gilmar has played for many different football clubs throughout his career. He started his youth career at Vitória from 2000 to 2002.
Playing in Japan
In 2006, Gilmar played for Tokyo Verdy in Japan's J2 League. He scored 9 goals in 18 games for them. The next year, 2007, he moved to Yokohama FC in the J1 League, which is Japan's top league. Later that same year, he returned to Tokyo Verdy.
Back in Brazil and France
After his time in Japan, Gilmar returned to Brazil to play for Náutico from 2008 to 2009. His strong performance there led him to join EA Guingamp in France. He was with Guingamp until 2011, though he spent some time on loan at Prudente in 2010.
Since then, Gilmar has played for several other Brazilian clubs. These include Avaí, Criciúma, Oeste, ABC, América de Natal, Santo André, and Itumbiara. He returned to Náutico in 2017.
