Club History and Achievements
How the Club Started
The club began in 1960 as Sociedad Deportiva Gimnástica Medinense. In 1962, they won their league and moved up to the Tercera División. This was like moving up to the fourth main level of Spanish football. After playing there for five seasons, the team went back down to the regional leagues. They returned to the fourth level in 1980.
Reaching Higher Divisions
In 1988, Gimnástica Medinense made history. They were promoted to Segunda División B for the first time. This was the third main level of Spanish football. However, they were relegated back down right away. They are still the only club from outside the city of Valladolid to have played in the third division.
