Glacier Lake is a beautiful freshwater lake found high up in the mountains. It's located in Kittitas County, Washington, near the big peaks of Chikamin Peak and Lemah Mountain.

This small lake is a popular spot for outdoor adventures. People love to visit for hiking, camping, and fishing for golden trout. Glacier Lake is nestled in the heart of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.

It's also close to other cool places. You'll find it a short distance from Chikamin Lake and Spectacle Lake. The famous Pacific Crest Trail, a long hiking path, is also nearby. To the north, you can find Avalanche Lake and Iceberg Lake.

Where is Glacier Lake?

Glacier Lake is located in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. This area is northeast of Snoqualmie Pass and The Summit at Snoqualmie. The land around the lake is managed by the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.

How to Reach the Lake

You can only get to Glacier Lake by walking. The adventure starts on the Surprise Creek Trail #1060. This trail begins east of an old railroad town called Scenic, Washington.

The trail follows Surprise Creek for about 5 miles. It then leads you to Surprise Lake. From there, the trail continues along the eastern side of Surprise Lake. After about half a mile, you will reach Glacier Lake. There are many places to set up camp around both Surprise Lake and Glacier Lake.
