Glandon is a small, unincorporated community located in the town of Hewitt. It is part of Marathon County in Wisconsin, United States. An "unincorporated community" means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government. Glandon is found where two county roads, Highway G and Highway Q, meet. It's about 13.5 miles (21.7 kilometers) northeast of a larger city called Wausau.
How Glandon Got Its Name
The community of Glandon got its name from William C. Landon. He was the person who started the local post office there in 1908. William Landon decided to name the community after someone important in his family. It was either his father or his son, as both of them shared the name G. Landon.
