Glen Scott's Music Journey

Starting Out in Music

Glen Scott was born in 1973 to parents who moved to the UK from Jamaica. His father was a reverend, and his mother was a teacher.

Glen grew up in North London. He was surrounded by music from a very young age, especially through his father's church. By the time he was 11, he was already playing the Hammond organ and drums. When he was 16, he started traveling the world and recording music. He worked with Dr. Robert from the New Wave Pop Rock band The Blow Monkeys.

First Music Deals

Glen Scott was very busy as a young session musician in London. This means he played instruments for many different recording artists. About five years later, his career as a songwriter and artist really took off.

In 1994, when he was 21, he signed his first publishing deal with BMG. This deal helped his songs get used by other artists. In 1996, he teamed up with Swedish producer and songwriter Martin Terefe. They became a strong songwriting team.

In 1997, Glen Scott signed a record deal with Sony Music/550 Music in New York City. This was a big step for his own music. In 1999, he released his first album, called Without Vertigo.

Recent Work (2012-Present)

In October 2012, Glen Scott joined a group of talented writers, composers, and producers at Kensaltown Studios in West London. He still works there today.

In September 2013, Glen Scott produced a highly praised album called Jericho Road for Eric Bibb. The next month, in October 2013, Glen joined Eric Bibb as the music director for a three-week tour across the UK.

In January 2014, Jericho Road won a special award. It was named "Best Album" of 2013 by the Academy of Jazz of Paris in France.
