Glenda Millard was born in Victoria, Australia. She started her writing career in 1999. Her very first book was called Unplugged!.

In 2003, she released a book titled The Naming of Tishkin Silk. This book was recognized as an honour book at the 2004 CBCA Awards. It was also a finalist for the 2004 New South Wales Premier's Literary Awards.
