Gloria Hendry (born March 3, 1949) is an American actress and former model. She is best known for her roles in movies from the 1970s. These include playing Rosie Carver in the 1973 James Bond film Live and Let Die. She also starred as Helen Bradley in the film Black Caesar and its sequel, Hell Up in Harlem.

Her Early Life
Gloria Hendry was born on March 3, 1949. Sources say she was born in either Jacksonville, Florida or Winter Haven, Florida. She was the older of two sisters. When she was young, her family moved to Newark, New Jersey. They lived there with her grandparents. Hendry later studied law at Essex College of Business.
Her Acting Journey
Gloria Hendry started her acting career in 1968. Her first movie role was in For Love of Ivy, which starred Sidney Poitier. After that, she had a small part in the 1970 film The Landlord.
In 1973, Hendry became famous for her role as Rosie Carver. This was in the James Bond movie Live and Let Die. In this film, she made history. She was the first African American woman to have a romantic role with James Bond, Agent 007. Another actress, Trina Parks, was in the previous Bond film, Diamonds Are Forever. Parks was the first Black Bond girl, but she played a character who was an enemy to Bond.
Hendry also starred in several other movies in the 1970s. These films included Across 110th Street (1972) and Slaughter's Big Rip-Off (1973). She was also in Black Caesar and its sequel Hell Up in Harlem, both from 1973. In 1974, she played Sydney, a martial arts expert, in Black Belt Jones. She also appeared in Savage Sisters (1974) and Bare Knuckles (1977). Later in her career, she acted in the horror film Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings (1994). She also appeared in the action comedy Freaky Deaky (2012).
