Where Goitered Gazelles Live

You can find goitered gazelles across a large part of Central Asia. Their home stretches from parts of Iran and southwestern Pakistan all the way to the Gobi Desert. This means they live in many different countries and environments.

Reproduction and Special Features

The scientific name for the goitered gazelle is Gazella subgutturosa. This name means "full below the throat." It refers to how male gazelles look during the mating season. At this time, the male's neck and throat area become larger. This special feature helps them attract mates.
