Goodlow is found in Navarro County, Texas. The city covers a total area of about 1.0 square mile (2.6 square kilometers). Almost all of this area is land.
Goodlow's History: How It Started
Goodlow was first settled around the year 1900. It was built on land that belonged to a person named Harry Goodlow.
In the mid-1930s, Goodlow was mainly a community for African American families. It had two churches and two schools. Many houses were also built there.
After World War II, the schools in Goodlow joined with the schools in a nearby town called Kerens. Even with this change, the community of Goodlow kept growing.
Goodlow officially became a city in 1978. This happened after the city of Kerens decided not to add Goodlow to its own area.
