Gordon James Reid, born on August 16, 1992, is an Australian doctor and politician. He is a member of the Labor Party. Since the 2022 Australian federal election, he has represented the area of Robertson in New South Wales as an MP. An MP is a Member of Parliament, someone elected to speak for their community in the government.

Gordon Reid's Early Life and Schooling
Gordon Reid is a Wiradjuri man. He was born on August 16, 1992, in an area known as Darkinjung country. He grew up on the Central Coast of New South Wales.
He went to Umina Beach Public School. Later, he attended Central Coast Grammar School. After high school, he studied medicine at the University of Newcastle. He finished his medical degree in 2016.
Gordon Reid's Career as a Doctor and Politician
Before becoming a politician, Gordon Reid worked as an emergency doctor. He helped people who needed urgent medical care. He worked in the Emergency Department at Wyong Hospital.
He decided to become a politician during the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia. He saw many people waiting for treatment in the hospital. This experience made him want to help more people by working in Parliament.
In the 2022 Australian federal election, Gordon Reid ran for election. He won against the previous MP, Lucy Wicks, in the area of Robertson. After winning, he became one of six First Nations people in the Labor Party's group in Parliament.
Supporting the Uluru Statement
Gordon Reid is a co-chair of a group called "Parliamentary friends of the Uluru Statement". This group started on February 13, 2023. It is a non-partisan group, meaning it includes members from different political parties.
The group supports the "Yes" campaign for the 2023 Australian Indigenous Voice referendum. This referendum was about changing the Australian Constitution. The change would have created a body called the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. This Voice would advise the Parliament and the Government on laws and policies for First Nations people.
