Goss is a small village located in Monroe County, Missouri, in the United States. It used to be called a town, but in 2010, it became known as a village. According to the 2020 census, Goss does not have any people living there permanently.

History of Goss
When Goss Was Founded
A post office was opened in Goss in 1885. This post office served the community until 1954. The village was named after an early settler in the area, a person named James Goss.

Where is Goss Located?
Goss is found in the middle part of Monroe County. It is located along U.S. Route 24, which is a main road. This road goes southwest for about 4 miles (6 km) to Paris, which is the main town of the county. The road also goes northeast for about 16 miles (26 km) to Monroe City.
Land and Water in Goss
The U.S. Census Bureau says that Goss covers an area of about 0.06 square miles (0.16 km2). All of this area is land, with no water. The village is on high ground. Water from this area flows north towards Otter Creek. Otter Creek then flows east into the North Fork of the Salt River. Water also flows south from Goss towards the Middle Fork of the Salt River.
