Graeme Donald Watson (born March 8, 1945 – died April 24, 2020) was a talented Australian cricket player. He played in five Test matches and two One Day Internationals (ODIs) for Australia between 1966 and 1972.

Cricket Career Highlights

Graeme Watson started his professional cricket journey playing for Victoria in the 1964–65 season. He later moved to play for Western Australia from 1971 to 1975. After that, he joined the New South Wales team in 1976–77.

A Unique Cricket Record

Watson made history by becoming the first player to compete in the Sheffield Shield for three different Australian states. The Sheffield Shield is Australia's main first-class cricket competition. This shows how versatile and skilled he was.

Top Score in England

One of Watson's most impressive moments was during Australia's tour of England in 1972. Playing against Hampshire County Cricket Club, he scored his highest first-class score of 176 runs. He and his teammate, Keith Stackpole, made an amazing 301-run partnership for the first wicket. This helped the Australian team win the match easily.

Throughout his first-class cricket career, Graeme Watson scored a total of 4,674 runs. He hit seven centuries (scores of 100 runs or more). He also took 186 wickets, which means he got 186 batters out. His best bowling figures were 6 wickets for 61 runs against South Australia in Melbourne.
