History

Geography
Grandview Plaza is located at 39°1′52″N 96°47′41″W / 39.03111°N 96.79472°W (39.031249, -96.794751). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.86 square miles (2.23 km2), of which, 0.84 square miles (2.18 km2) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2) is water.

2020 census
The 2020 United States census counted 1,697 people, 789 households, and 426 families in Grandview Plaza. The population density was 2,003.5 per square mile (773.6/km2). There were 987 housing units at an average density of 1,165.3 per square mile (449.9/km2). The racial makeup was 57.63% (978) white or European American (52.5% non-Hispanic white), 17.32% (294) black or African-American, 1.3% (22) Native American or Alaska Native, 3.01% (51) Asian, 2.42% (41) Pacific Islander or Native Hawaiian, 4.36% (74) from other races, and 13.97% (237) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 15.2% (258) of the population.
Of the 789 households, 27.1% had children under the age of 18; 39.8% were married couples living together; 21.4% had a female householder with no spouse or partner present. 38.4% of households consisted of individuals and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.2 and the average family size was 2.8. The percent of those with a bachelor’s degree or higher was estimated to be 16.8% of the population.
21.0% of the population was under the age of 18, 20.3% from 18 to 24, 33.8% from 25 to 44, 16.7% from 45 to 64, and 8.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 27.5 years. For every 100 females, there were 84.5 males. For every 100 females ages 18 and older, there were 82.7 males.
The 2016-2020 5-year American Community Survey estimates show that the median household income was $44,054 (with a margin of error of +/- $6,677) and the median family income was $44,857 (+/- $15,039). Males had a median income of $31,517 (+/- $4,790) versus $23,902 (+/- $2,928) for females. The median income for those above 16 years old was $29,281 (+/- $5,458). 2010 census
As of the census of 2010, there were 1,560 people, 651 households, and 430 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,857.1 inhabitants per square mile (717.0/km2). There were 788 housing units at an average density of 938.1 per square mile (362.2/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 72.1% White, 11.4% African American, 1.2% Native American, 1.9% Asian, 0.8% Pacific Islander, 3.7% from other races, and 8.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11.5% of the population.
There were 651 households, of which 37.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.2% were married couples living together, 13.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 33.9% were non-families. 26.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.36 and the average family size was 2.85.
The median age in the city was 25.3 years. 25.8% of residents were under the age of 18; 23.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 27% were from 25 to 44; 17.4% were from 45 to 64; and 6.3% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 51.6% male and 48.4% female.
