Granville Earl Anderson (born around 1960) is a Canadian politician from Ontario, Canada. He has worked to represent people in his community. From 2014 to 2018, he was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. This is like being a provincial Member of Parliament (MPP). He represented the area called Durham.
After that, Mr. Anderson served as a Regional Councillor for the town of Clarington. He represented Wards 3 & 4 from 2018 to 2022. Today, he is still a Regional Councillor for Clarington, now representing Wards 1 & 2.

Who is Granville Anderson?
Early Life and Education
Granville Anderson was born in Jamaica. When he was 13 years old, he moved to Canada with his family. He studied at the University of Windsor, where he learned about mediation law. He also earned a diploma in business administration from Seneca College.
His Career Before Politics
Before becoming a politician, Mr. Anderson worked as a mediator. A mediator is someone who helps people solve disagreements peacefully. He owned his own company that offered these services. He also worked at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, helping people with workplace issues.
In 2003, he was elected as a separate school trustee. A school trustee helps make important decisions for a school board. He later became the chair of the Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland, and Clarington Catholic District School Board. This means he led the group of people making decisions for many Catholic schools.
Becoming a Politician
Mr. Anderson decided to run for provincial politics in 2014. He ran as a candidate for the Ontario Liberal Party in the Durham area. He won the election, beating the Progressive Conservative candidate by over 1,200 votes. This made him a Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP).
Serving in the Provincial Parliament
As an MPP, Granville Anderson helped make laws for Ontario. He also served as a Parliamentary Assistant. This role means he helped ministers in the government with their duties. He was a Parliamentary Assistant for the Minister of Children and Youth Services. He also helped the Minister of Education. This meant he worked on important issues for young people and schools in Ontario.
In the 2018 provincial election, Mr. Anderson was not re-elected.
Working for His Community in Clarington
Even after leaving provincial politics, Granville Anderson continued to serve his community. In 2018, he ran for a local position as Regional Councillor for Wards 3 & 4 in Clarington. He won this election.
In 2022, he ran again for provincial parliament in Durham, but he did not win. However, later that year, he ran for Regional Councillor in Clarington again. This time, he ran for Wards 1 & 2 and won in a very close election. He continues to work as a Regional Councillor, helping make decisions for the local community in Clarington.
