The Greater Manchester Police Museum is a cool place in Greater Manchester, England. It used to be a real police station! Now, it's a museum where you can learn all about the history of policing in the area.
From 1879 to 1979, different police forces worked here. These included the Manchester City Police and later the Greater Manchester Police. In 1981, the building became a museum. Its inside was changed to look like it did in the past, especially during the Victorian era. It helps us remember what policing was like back then. Because it's an important old building, it was given a special 'Grade II listed' status on June 5, 1994. This means it's protected because of its history.
Where to Find the Museum
The museum is on Newton Street in Manchester's fun Northern Quarter. It's just a short walk from Piccadilly Gardens and Piccadilly railway station. This makes it easy to visit!
