Grzegorz Miecugow (born November 22, 1955 – died August 26, 2017) was a well-known Polish journalist and TV presenter. He had family roots from Armenia and Georgia. He worked for many years as a journalist, TV presenter, editor, and writer.
Early Life and Career Beginnings
Grzegorz Miecugow was born in Kraków, which was then part of the Polish People's Republic. He went to John III Sobieski High School No 2 in Kraków. Later, he studied philosophy at the University of Warsaw. From 1989 to 2001, he worked at Polish Radio Programme III.
Television Work
Grzegorz Miecugow was a news anchor for popular TV news shows like Wiadomości and Fakty TVN. In 2001, he hosted the first Polish version of the famous reality show, Big Brother.
He also helped start TVN24. This was Poland's first TV news channel that broadcast 24 hours a day. It launched on August 9, 2001.
Other Projects
In January 2005, Grzegorz Miecugow became the host of Szkło kontaktowe. This was a daily comedy news show on TVN24. It quickly became very popular across Poland. He also created his own TV show called Inny punkt widzenia (Another Point of View). On this show, he talked about important topics like science, religion, culture, and philosophy with his guests.
He also wrote articles for newspapers like Dziennik Polski and Przekrój magazine. He even taught journalism at Collegium Civitas university. Grzegorz Miecugow also acted in a few movies, like the comedy film Pułapka and Ryś.

Grzegorz Miecugow passed away in Warsaw on August 26, 2017. He was buried at the Powązki Military Cemetery in Warsaw.
