Guamúchil is a lively city in the state of Sinaloa, located in northwestern Mexico. It's about 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of Culiacán, which is the capital city of Sinaloa. Guamúchil is the main city for the Salvador Alvarado municipality. It's also a very important place for business and culture in the Évora Valley, named after the local Évora River.
In 2010, about 72,500 people lived here. It's the fifth-largest city in Sinaloa by population. The cities with more people are Culiacán, Mazatlán, Los Mochis, and Guasave.

Economy and Agriculture
Trade is a very important part of Guamúchil's economy. The city has large warehouses where grains are stored for sale and use.
Agriculture is one of the main ways people earn money in this area. Many different types of foods are grown here. The most common crops are corn and tomatoes.
Guamúchil can produce more than 15 different kinds of crops. Many of these are used by local food industries or sold in markets both in Mexico and other countries. Some of these crops include safflower, wheat, soybeans, corn, sorghum, various vegetables, chickpeas, fruits, and different types of grasses.
