Guanabo is a lovely beach town in Cuba. It is part of the Ciudad de la Habana Province. This town is a special area called a consejo popular (which means "people's council"). It is located within the Habana del Este area.
Guanabo sits right between the big city of Havana and another town called Santa Cruz del Norte. You can find it where the Guanabo River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Behind the town, there's a mountain range called the Sierra del Canchón.

History of Guanabo
The town of Guanabo was first started way back in the year 1800. An important event happened nearby in 1827. This was when a local uprising, known as the Peñas Altas revolt, was stopped by soldiers from Havana. Peñas Altas is a neighborhood just east of Guanabo.
