Gugu Rarmul facts for kids
The Gugu Rarmul were an Indigenous Australian people. They lived in the state of Queensland, Australia. Their language was one of several called Gugu Yawa, which means 'Possum language'.
Where the Gugu Rarmul Lived
The Gugu Rarmul people lived in a large area of land. According to a researcher named Norman Tindale, their territory covered about 7,800 square kilometers (3,000 square miles).
Their land was located southeast of the Morehead River. It stretched south towards the town of Laura. Their southern border reached the North Palmer River and the Great Dividing Range. They also lived near the upper parts of the Mossman and Kennedy rivers.

Like many Indigenous groups, the Gugu Rarmul were known by several different names. These names include:

- Kokorarmul
- Jouon
- AkuRarmul
- Bindaga (This was a general name used for the Kokojawa and other groups south of Princess Charlotte Bay.)
