Guity Novin (born in 1944) is a Canadian artist who was born in Iran. She is famous as a painter and a graphic designer. She created her own art style called "transpressionism." This style mixes "trans-" and "impressionism." Her art can be found in many private and public collections around the world. Guity Novin has also worked with a special committee for artists at UNESCO.

Early Life and Learning
Guity Navran was born in 1944 in Kermanshah, Iran. In 1953, her family moved to Tehran. She later married an economist named Farid Novin.
Her Art Career
After finishing her studies in graphic design, Guity Novin started working. In 1970, she became a graphic designer. She worked for the Ministry of Culture and Arts in Tehran.
She also designed covers for magazines. Some of these magazines were called Zaman, Chaapar, and Daricheh.
Guity Novin also showed her art in many group exhibitions. One important show was for women artists. It happened during the Asian Games in 1974. She also showed her work in Paris at the Salon d'automne.
Her drawings were used in a book called Le Carnaval de la licorne (2001). Her painting Pears in Blue was shown in a book called Abnormal Psychology.
Moving to Vancouver
Guity Novin moved to Vancouver, Canada, in 1996. From this time on, she started calling her art style "Transpressionism." She saw this as a new way of creating art.
She had many solo art shows in Vancouver. Some of these shows included:
- The Bliss of Solitude (2004)
- And Yet the Menace of the Years Find, and Shall Find, Me Unafraid (2006)
- Whispered of peace, and truth, and friendliness unquelled (2007)
- She opened her door and her window, And the heart and the soul came through (2008)
- but love is the sky and I am for you, just so long and long enough (2009)
All these shows took place at the North Vancouver Community Arts Council. She also joined several group shows. These included two shows at the Ferry Building Gallery in 2006 and 2008. She also exhibited at the CityScape gallery in 2009.
Graphic Design Work
Guity Novin has created many graphic designs. She designed covers for magazines like Negin and Zaman. She also worked on publications for the Free Cinema of Iran.
She was the graphic designer for the First Tehran International Film Festival. Later, in Ottawa, her illustrations were published. They appeared in the Breaking The Silence Magazine during the 1980s.
