Guity Novin (born in 1944) is a talented artist from Iran who later became a Canadian citizen. She is known for her paintings of people and objects, called figurative art. She is also a skilled graphic designer, creating visuals for many things.
Novin created her own art style called "transpressionism." This name combines "trans-" (meaning beyond) and "impressionism" (a style of painting). Her artworks are displayed in collections all over the world. She has even worked with a special committee for UNESCO, which is a part of the United Nations.

Early Life and Education
Guity Novin was born in 1944 in a city called Kermanshah in Iran. When she was young, in 1953, her family moved to Tehran, the capital city of Iran.
She later married an economist named Farid Novin.
Guity Novin's Art Career
After finishing her studies in graphic design, Guity Novin started working in 1970. She became a graphic designer for the Ministry of Culture and Arts in Tehran. This job involved creating visual designs for various projects.
She also designed covers for popular magazines like Zaman. Her work appeared in many literary magazines too.
Exhibitions and Published Works
Guity Novin showed her art in many group exhibitions. One important show was for women artists during the Asian Games in 1974. She also displayed her work in the famous Salon d'Automne in Paris, France.
Her drawings were featured in a book called Le Carnaval de la licorne in 2001. One of her paintings, Pears in Blue, was published in a book titled Abnormal Psychology.
Vancouver Period: A New Art Style
In 1996, Novin moved to Vancouver, Canada. Here, she began to show her unique art style, "Transpressionism," in a series of exhibitions. She saw this as a fresh and new way of creating art.
She had several solo shows during this time. Some of these included The Bliss of Solitude (2004) and And Yet the Menace of the Years Find, and Shall Find, Me Unafraid (2006). Other shows were Whispered of peace, and truth, and friendliness unquelled (2007), She opened her door and her window, And the heart and the soul came through (2008), and but love is the sky and I am for you, just so long and long enough (2009). All these shows took place at the North Vancouver Community Arts Council. She also took part in group shows at the Ferry Building Gallery and the CityScape gallery.
Graphic Design Contributions
Guity Novin has created many graphic designs throughout her career. She designed the covers for magazines like Negin and Zaman. She also worked on publications for the Free Cinema of Iran.
She was the graphic designer for the very first Tehran International Film Festival. Later, in Ottawa, her illustrations were published in Breaking The Silence Magazine during the 1980s.
