Nivaldo Batista Lima (born September 3, 1989), known as Gusttavo Lima, is a famous Brazilian singer, songwriter, and music producer. He is well-known in Brazil for his many popular songs. He became famous around the world with his 2011 hit song "Balada".
Gusttavo Lima began his music journey at just 7 years old. He sang with his older brothers, Willian and Marcelo, in a group called Trio Remelexo. Later, he formed a duo called Gustavo & Alessandro. In 2009, he released his first solo album. A song from this album, "Rosas, Versos e Vinhos", became very popular on local radio.
In 2010, Gusttavo released his first live album, Inventor dos Amores. This album had three successful songs: "Inventor dos Amores", "Cor de Ouro", and "Refém". The year 2011 was a big one for him. His song "Balada" made him a national star in Brazil. It also became a hit in many other countries, like the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, and the United States.
"Balada" was part of his second live album, Gusttavo Lima e Você (2011). This album sold very well in Brazil. In 2012, Gusttavo Lima went on his first international tour. He performed in the United States and Europe. His third live album, Ao Vivo in São Paulo (2012), sold over 200,000 copies. It featured the popular song "Gatinha Assanhada".
His album 50/50 (2016) was one of his most successful. It included hit songs like "Que Pena Que Acabou" and "Homem de Família". These songs reached the top of the music charts in Brazil. In 2017, he released Buteco do Gusttavo Lima Vol. 2. The main song from this album, "Apelido Carinhoso", was a huge success. In 2018, his album O Embaixador also had a major hit song called "Zé da Recaída".

Early Life and Beginnings
Gusttavo Lima was born in Presidente Olegário, a city in the Minas Gerais state of Brazil. His parents are Sebastiana and Alcino Lima. When he was 9 years old, he moved to Patos de Minas to sing with his brothers. They had a band called 'Trio Remelexo'.
At 13, he left the band and moved to Brasília. There, he changed his stage name to "Gusttavo". He then started a music duo called Gustavo & Alessandro.
Musical Career Highlights
In 2009, Gusttavo Lima released his first album, simply called Gusttavo Lima. It had 24 songs. The song "Rosas, Versos e Vinhos" became very popular on local radio stations. In 2010, he signed with the Som Livre record label. He then released Inventor dos Amores, which came out as both a CD and a DVD. This album sold 15,000 copies. The main song, "Inventor dos Amores", was a collaboration with the duo Jorge & Mateus.
In 2011, Gusttavo released a CD and DVD called Gusttavo Lima e Você. This album was recorded live in Patos de Minas on June 3, 2011. It was during a big music event called Fenamilho, which had an estimated audience of 6 million people. This very popular album reached number 7 on the charts and sold enough copies to be certified platinum.
The album featured his biggest hit, "Balada". This song became incredibly popular in Brazil. The famous Brazilian football player Neymar helped make the song even more well-known. Neymar appeared in many shows with Gusttavo Lima, similar to how he helped Michel Teló's song "Ai se eu te pego!" become a global hit.
In January 2012, Gusttavo Lima started his first international tour. He performed in cities across the United States. He also released "Balada" in European countries. Later in 2012, he released another live album called Ao vivo em São Paulo.
