Nivaldo Batista Lima (born September 3, 1989), known as Gusttavo Lima, is a famous Brazilian singer, songwriter, and music producer. He is well-known in Brazil for his many hit songs. He became famous around the world with his 2011 song "Balada".
Gusttavo Lima began his music journey at just 7 years old. He started with his older brothers, Willian and Marcelo, in a group called Trio Remelexo. After leaving the trio, he joined a country music duo named Gustavo & Alessandro. In 2009, he released his first solo album. A song from this album, "Rosas, Versos e Vinhos," became very popular on local radio. It also reached the top 100 songs in Brazil.
In 2010, Gusttavo released his first live album, Inventor dos Amores. This album had three successful songs: "Inventor dos Amores," "Cor de Ouro," and "Refém." The song "Balada" came out in 2011 and made him a national star. It reached number 3 on the Billboard Brazil Hot 100 Airplay chart. "Balada" also became a hit in many other countries. These included the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, the United States, France, and Sweden. His second live album, Gusttavo Lima e Você (2011), which included "Balada," sold very well in Brazil.

In 2018, he released his seventh live album, O Embaixador. This album was recorded at the Festa do Peão de Barretos. Like his previous album, it had new songs and re-recordings. Its main song, "Zé da Recaída," was another huge hit. It also topped the Brasil Hot 100 Airplay. This was his sixth song to reach number one on that chart.

Early Life and Beginnings
Gusttavo Lima was born in Presidente Olegário, a city in the Minas Gerais state of Brazil. His parents are Sebastiana and Alcino Lima. When he was just 9 years old, in 1998, he moved to Patos de Minas. There, he started singing with his brothers. They had a band called 'Trio Remelexo'.
When he was 13, he left the band. He then moved to Brasília. In Brasília, he changed his stage name to "Gusttavo." He also formed a new music duo called Gustavo & Alessandro.

In 2009, Gusttavo released his first album, simply titled Gusttavo Lima. This album had 24 songs. The song "Rosas, Versos e Vinhos" became very popular. It reached the top spot on a local radio station. It also climbed to number 57 on the Billboard Brazil charts.
In 2010, he signed with the Som Livre music label. He then released Inventor dos Amores as both a CD and DVD. This album sold 15,000 copies. In 2011, Gusttavo released a CD and DVD called Gusttavo Lima e Você. This album was recorded live in Patos de Minas on June 3, 2011. It was during the Fenamilho music event. The album featured his biggest hit, "Balada." The full title of the song is "Balada Boa (Tchê Tcherere Tchê Tchê)." This name comes from its famous chorus. "Balada" reached number 3 in Brazil.
