Günther Johannes Jauch (born 13 July 1956) is a famous German TV presenter, producer, and journalist. He is best known for hosting Wer wird Millionär?, which is the German version of the popular game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? He has been a familiar face on German television for many years.

TV Shows and Style
Jauch owns a production company called "i&u TV". This name stands for Information und Unterhaltung, which means "information and entertainment". He is also known for giving large amounts of money to charity. This money often comes from his appearances in advertisements and other promotional work.
In the 1980s, Jauch worked for radio shows. From 1990 to 2010, he produced and hosted stern TVRTL. In 2011, after hosting stern TV for 21 years, Jauch started hosting a weekly political talk show. This show was on the public German TV channel Das Erste.

Personal Life
After being together for 18 years, Günther Jauch married Thea in 2006. Their wedding took place at the Orangerie in Schloss Sanssouci in Potsdam. He is part of the Hamburg Jauch family.
Jauch and Thea have two biological daughters, Svenja (born in 1989) and Kristin (born in 1993). They also adopted two orphaned daughters, Katja and Masha, in 1997 and 2000.
Philanthropy
Günther Jauch prefers to live a private life. He has said that he spends a lot of his income on good causes. This includes all the money he earns from advertising jobs.
In 2002, he gave a lot of money to help rebuild the Fortunaportal (Gate of the Fortuna). This gate is at the Potsdam Stadtschloss city palace. Jauch has also supported other projects in Potsdam. These include the Belvedere on the Pfingstberg, where he got married. He also helped with the Potsdam city canal and the restoration of the Neptune Grotto in the Sanssouci Park.
He also helped build the Marienschule Potsdam. This is a Roman-Catholic school for primary and secondary education. The prime minister of Brandenburg praised him for being a great citizen.
Jauch's family has a long history of charity. His grandmother's ancestor, Anna Weißebach, founded the Caritas Konferenzen in Germany. His family also set up soup kitchens and poorhouses in Hamburg in the past. Following this tradition, Jauch helped start a branch of "Die Arche" in Drewitz (Potsdam) in 2009. This organization provides free meals for children in need. He also helps cover their ongoing costs.
Vineyard Owner
Günther Jauch also continues a family tradition of making wine. This tradition goes back 200 years. In 2010, he bought a relative's vineyard called Othegraven in Kanzem. This vineyard had been in his family since 1805. His ancestor, Emmerich Grach, bought the property then.
Jauch bought the vineyard to make sure it stayed in the family. One of the previous owners was his famous great-great-uncle, Franz Weißebach. The vineyard is known for its high quality and beautiful location. In 2011, Jauch bought another vineyard called Wawerner Herrenberg. This vineyard also belonged to his ancestor Emmerich Grach. Since 2018, Jauch has also helped produce wines that a supermarket chain sells under his name.
