Högsby is a small town in Sweden. It is located in Kalmar County. Högsby is also the main town, or "seat," of Högsby Municipality. In 2010, about 1,881 people lived here. Other smaller towns in the municipality include Långemåla, Fågelfors, Berga, and Fagerhult.

Högsby is the central town in its municipality. It has many useful places for people who live there. You can find a local mall called Karlsson Varuhus. There are also other shops nearby.
If you get hungry, Högsby has a Thai restaurant. You can also find a few local pizzerias. For groceries, there is an ICA supermarket and a COOP Konsum supermarket. The town also has a second-hand shop called Kupan. This shop is part of the Red Cross organization.
Fun Things to Do in Högsby
Högsby is a great place for outdoor activities. The Emån river flows right through the town. This river is perfect for canoeing and fishing. It's a popular spot for locals and visitors.
You can also visit a museum in Högsby. It is dedicated to the famous actress Greta Garbo. The museum opened in 1998. Greta Garbo's mother came from Högsby, which is why the museum is located there.
Outside of town, there is a special place called Bokhultet. It is a nature reserve. This area is home to many rare plants and insects. It's a wonderful spot to explore nature.

Högsby has a school called Högsby Educational Centre. People often call it HUC. It is a small school with less than 160 students. The students are usually between 16 and 19 years old.
HUC is a type of school called a "Gymnasium" in Sweden. This is similar to a mix between High School and College in other countries. Students go there to continue their studies after elementary school.
