Hadi Teherani (born February 2, 1954) is a famous Iranian-German architect and designer. He lives in Hamburg, Germany, and is known for creating amazing buildings and cool everyday items.
Biography
Hadi Teherani was born in Tehran, Iran. When he was 6 years old, his family moved to Germany. He went to school in Hamburg and later studied Architecture at Braunschweig University of Technology from 1977 to 1984. He even taught at Aachen’s Technical University for a few years.
Before becoming a professional architect, he started his career in fashion design. In 1991, he co-founded an architecture company called BRT with his friends Bothe and Richter. Later, in 2003, he started his own design company, Hadi Teherani AG, to bring his design ideas to life. He also has offices in places like Moscow, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. He helps judge the Design Educates Awards in Germany, which celebrates great designs.
Works and Philosophy
Hadi Teherani is not just an architect; he also designs products and interiors. This means he designs things like furniture, lighting, and even how the inside of a building looks and feels. His goal is to create spaces that feel complete and harmonious, down to every small detail. He works with different companies to make furniture, carpets, and wall designs that match his unique style.
Hadi Teherani has designed many different products. These include office chairs, other types of seating, sideboards, and even a mobile office. He has also designed lights, door handles, various rug collections, wallpaper, bathroom items, and even kitchens. He even designed an electric bicycle!
One of the big reasons for his success is how much he uses glass in his buildings and designs. In most of his projects, you'll see glass used from the floor to the ceiling. He believes that three things are super important in a building: light, air, and the view from inside the room. By using lots of glass, he tries to make buildings as bright and open as possible.
Hadi Teherani believes that design should go beyond just architecture. He says that architecture gives the basic idea for a space. But to truly create a great design, you need to think about everything. This includes the smallest details, how the space makes you feel, and even the identity of a whole company. Many of his designs and projects have won awards, like the FIABCI Award and MIPIM Awards. Besides designing huge buildings, Teherani also enjoys designing everyday items, from furniture to small objects.
