About Hadi Teherani
Hadi Teherani was born in Tehran, Iran. When he was six years old, his family moved to Germany. He went to school in Hamburg. Later, he studied architecture at Braunschweig University of Technology from 1977 to 1984.
After his studies, he taught at Aachen’s Technical University for a few years. In 1991, he started his own architecture company called BRT with his friends Bothe and Richter. He also created a design company, Hadi Teherani AG, in 2003. This company focuses on his ideas for product and interior design. Since 1999, he has been a member of the Free Academy of Arts Hamburg. Hadi Teherani also has offices in other countries like Moscow, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. He helps judge the Design Educates Awards in Germany.
His Design Ideas
Hadi Teherani is not just an architect who designs buildings. He also creates products and designs for the inside of spaces. His goal is to make every space feel complete and harmonious. He pays attention to all the small details. He works with different companies to create furniture, fabrics, and wall designs for his buildings. These items match his unique architectural style.
What He Designs
Hadi Teherani has designed many different things. These include office chairs, other types of seating, and storage units. He has also designed lights, door handles, and window fittings. His work includes various rug collections and wallpaper. He even designed kitchen systems and a special electric bicycle.
Why Glass is Important
One key part of Teherani's designs is using a lot of glass. Many of his buildings feature glass from the floor to the ceiling. He believes that three things are very important in a building: light, air, and the view from the room. Using glass helps bring these elements into his designs. This helps his buildings meet very high standards.
His Design Philosophy
Hadi Teherani believes in a complete approach to design. He says that architecture gives the basic idea for a space. But the real challenge is to make that idea come to life. This means thinking about everything, from the smallest details to how a space makes people feel. He also considers how a design can show the identity of a whole company. Many of his projects and products have won awards. These include the FIABCI Award and the MIPIM Awards.
