Hager is a small place in Klamath County, Oregon, United States. It is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it does not have its own local government, like a city or town would. Hager is located between two other places, Klamath Falls and Olene. You can find it along Oregon Route 39 and Oregon Route 140.
A Look at Hager's Past
Hager was once an important stop on a railway line called the Oregon, California and Eastern Railway. This railway helped connect different towns in the area. By 1927, the tracks stretched all the way from Klamath Falls to Bly.
Hager's Railway Station
In 1941, a train schedule showed Hager as the second stop after Klamath Falls. It was located between Klamath Falls and another stop called Pine Grove. This shows that Hager played a role in the region's transportation network.
From Railway to Trail
After 1990, the railway line that went through Hager was no longer used for trains. Instead, it was turned into a special pathway called a rail trail. This trail is now known as the OC&E Woods Line State Trail. It is managed by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. People can now use this trail for walking, biking, and enjoying nature where trains once traveled.
