Early Life and Moving Around
Haley Bennett was born in Fort Myers, Florida, on January 7, 1988. Her parents were Leilani and Ronald Keeling. Haley moved a lot when she was young. Her parents divorced when she was six. She often moved between her father's home in Ohio and her mother's home in Florida.
Haley once said she lived a "nomadic" life. This means she moved often and never stayed in one place for long. She felt like an outsider sometimes. But this also made her not care too much about what others thought. She grew up enjoying outdoor activities with her dad. She also learned about art and being strong from her mom.
When Haley was 10, she moved to Stow, Ohio. She went to Stow-Munroe Falls High School there. At 13, she started at Barbizon Modeling School. She also acted in school plays and sang in choirs. She studied music and acting when she stayed with her mother in Naples.
When she was 18, Haley decided to become an actress. She convinced her mother to take her to Los Angeles. She managed to get an agent. She then started using her mother's former married name, Bennett, as her stage name.
