Hall is a small community located in Gregg Township, Morgan County, in the state of Indiana, United States. It is an area where people live but it is not officially a city or town.
History of Hall
The community of Hall was officially started in 1861. Before that, in 1854, a post office opened in Hall. A post office is a place where people can send and receive mail. This post office served the local community for many years. It finally closed down in 1966.
There is a special building in Hall called the Hall School. This old school building is very important. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it is recognized for its historical value. It is a place that is protected because of its past.
Famous Person from Hall
Hall is known as the birthplace of a very famous person. His name was John Wooden. He was a legendary basketball coach. He coached college basketball teams. He led the Indiana State team. Later, he became even more famous coaching at UCLA. Many people consider him one of the greatest coaches of all time. He also played basketball for Purdue University.
