History of Hall
The area around Hall was first settled and cleared for farming around the early 1800s. Many people from England moved here during that time. The hamlet was first known as Hall's Corners. People sometimes called it "the English settlement" because of the settlers.

In the mid-1800s, Hall had a train station. It was part of the Elmira Rail Road Company, which is no longer in use today. Even with the changes over time, Hall has continued to be an important center for farming.
