In 2014, the school had a big makeover. It cost about £15 million to update the buildings. Hampton High has been known by different names over the years. It first opened its doors in 1936.
Mr. C. Regis became the headteacher in March 2024. He took over after Rebecca Poole left in December 2023.

Early Beginnings
The first school on this site opened in 1936. It was called Rectory School. Later, in 1999, its name changed. It became known as Hampton Community College.
Becoming an Academy
By 2001, the school buildings needed updates. They were not modern enough. So, the school was rebuilt. This was part of a special program. It helped schools become "sponsored academies." In 2010, the school reopened as Hampton Academy. It was managed by the Learning Schools Trust at that time.
Name and Trust Changes
In September 2016, the school changed trusts. It moved to the Richmond West Schools Trust. Soon after, its name changed again. This is when it became Hampton High. Then, in September 2021, it joined an even larger group. It moved to the Bourne Trust, which runs the school today.
