Hana Kimura's Wrestling Journey
Starting Her Career
Even before she became a professional wrestler, Hana Kimura won a wrestling title called the DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship in 2005. She was very young then! She later lost the title to her own mother, Kyoko.
In the 2010s, Hana trained at Wrestle-1's special wrestling school. This is where she learned all the moves and skills to become a pro wrestler.
Wrestling for Wrestle-1
Hana officially started her wrestling career on March 30, 2016. Her first match was against her classmate, Reika Saiki. Hana didn't win that match, but she and Reika wrestled many times that year.
On August 7, 2016, Hana even wrestled against her mother in a match! A month later, on September 18, 2016, Hana won her very first championship title, the JWP Junior Championship. She won it by beating Yako Fujigasaki in a tournament final. She lost the title back to Yako Fujigasaki later that year.
In January 2017, Hana's mother, Kyoko, retired from wrestling. In her mother's final show, Hana defeated her in a singles match. They also teamed up in a tag team match and won.
Hana traveled internationally in early 2018. She wrestled for different companies like Ring of Honor and Pro-Wrestling: EVE. On March 21, 2019, Hana announced she was leaving Wrestle-1.
Joining Stardom
Hana Kimura also wrestled for World Wonder Ring Stardom, which is a big female wrestling company in Japan. She joined a group called Oedo Tai in Stardom.
On October 2, 2016, Hana teamed up with her mother and another wrestler named Kagetsu. Together, they won the Artist of Stardom Championship. They had to give up the titles in January 2017 because Hana got injured.
Later, Hana and Kagetsu won another title, the Goddess of Stardom Championship, on June 21, 2017. They held these titles for almost a year! They defended them against many strong teams. Finally, they lost the titles in 2018.
In September 2018, Hana surprised everyone by turning against her Oedo Tai teammates. She said she was no longer part of the group.
Tokyo Cyber Squad
Hana officially joined Stardom on March 25, 2019. She became the leader of a new wrestling group called "Tokyo Cyber Squad" on April 21.
On May 16, Hana and her teammates, Jungle Kyona and Konami, won the Artist of Stardom Championship again!
Hana had her last match on March 24, 2020. During her time in Stardom, she won the Artist of Stardom Championship twice and the Goddess of Stardom Championship once. She also won the 2019 5★Star GP tournament, which is a big wrestling competition.
Life on Terrace House
Hana Kimura joined the reality TV show Terrace House: Tokyo 2019–2020 in September 2019. She was on the show until her passing.
In one episode, Hana had an argument with a housemate about her wrestling costume. After this episode aired, Hana faced a lot of mean comments and bullying from people online. This was a very difficult time for her. Because of what happened, the show stopped releasing new episodes and was later canceled.
Personal Life
Hana Kimura's mother, Kyoko Kimura, was also a professional wrestler. Hana was separated from her father when she was very young. Her mother mentioned that Hana's father was from Indonesia, which meant Hana was Indonesian-Japanese. Because of her mixed background, Hana was sometimes bullied when she was a child.
