Early Life and Career Beginnings
Hanny Nahmias was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, and grew up in the nearby city of Givatayim. She was the oldest of three children and has two younger brothers. Her family originally came from Thessaloniki, Greece.
A Star from a Young Age
Even as a child, Hanny loved to perform. She sang in a choir and acted in a children's theater. She was the star of a play called "Hanale's Sabbath Dress." In 1971, when she was just a kid, she appeared in the movie "I Am a Jerusalemite," directed by the famous singer Yehoram Gaon.
Hanny attended ORT Technikum high school in Givatayim. In 1978, she joined the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) for her military service. At first, she worked as a clerk, but soon she was moved to the IDF Choir and later the famous Nahal Band. Being in these groups allowed her to use her talents to entertain soldiers.
Personal Life
In 1983, Hanny married Tzvi Steinmetz. They had two children together, a son and a daughter. Sadly, Tzvi passed away in 1993 from an illness.
Later, Hanny married Meir Azouri in 1999. They were married for many years before divorcing in 2021. Since 2023, she has been in a relationship with singer Yehuda Elias.
