How Hansen Began
Hansen started to grow in the year 1879. This was when a new railroad line was built through the area. The community was named after an important person who worked for the railroad company.
Hansen's Post Office
A post office was opened in Hansen in 1879, the same year the railroad arrived. This post office helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1955.
