Hareem Farooq (Urdu: حریم فاروق) is a talented actress and producer from Pakistan. She was born on May 26, 1989. Hareem started her acting journey in theatre plays. She played important roles like Fatima Jinnah in Pawnay 14 August.
Her first movie was a thriller called Siyaah in 2013. This role was a big step for her. She also became well-known for her roles in TV shows. Some of these include Mausam (2014) and Diyar-e-Dil (2015). Hareem is also a film producer. She helped make movies like Janaan (2016) and Parchi (2018). Early Life and Education
Hareem Farooq was born on May 26, 1989, in Islamabad, Pakistan. She spent most of her childhood there. Later, her family moved to Karachi. Her parents are both doctors. Her father is a public health expert, and her mother is a skin doctor.
Hareem went to Karachi Grammar School for her early education. She then studied Sociology and Journalism at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad. After finishing her studies, she began her career in acting. Singer Abdullah Qureshi is her cousin.
Acting Career
Hareem Farooq started her acting career in 2012 in theatre. She played the main role of Fatima Jinnah in the play Pawnay 14 August. She also performed as Jahan Ara Begum in Aangan Terha.
In 2013, Hareem made her first appearance in a movie. It was a horror thriller film called Siyaah. The next year, in 2014, she started acting on television. Her first TV show was Mausam, where she acted alongside Ahsan Khan and Yumna Zaidi. She also appeared in romantic TV shows like Dusri Biwi and Mere Humdum Mere Dost.
A very important role for Hareem was in the family drama Diyar-e-Dil in 2015. She played a character who grew from a young girl to an old lady. After that, she starred in Sanam. In this show, she played a character dealing with bipolar disorder. In the same year, she also acted in the film Dobara Phir Se.
Hareem played a strong female character in the comedy movie Parchi. She was a female don in the film. Her co-stars included Ali Rehman Khan, Ahmed Ali Akbar, and Usman Mukhtar.
Producing Films
In 2015, Hareem Farooq also became a film producer. She joined her childhood friend, Imran Raza Kazmi, as a partner in IRK Films. Together, they produced the film Janaan. Hareem also had a small role in Janaan.
After Janaan, they produced the successful film Parchi in 2018. In the same year, Hareem helped create a global entertainment company called IHA Entertainment. This company works with other entertainment businesses, including some in Saudi Arabia.
Hareem is also known for hosting the Pakistan Super League opening ceremony in Dubai in February 2018. She was the first female celebrity to have this honor. She also became an official spokesperson for Loreal Professional, Pakistan, in 2017.
