Hareem Farooq (Urdu: حریم فاروق) is a talented Pakistani actress and film producer. She was born on May 26, 1989. Hareem started her acting journey in theatre plays. Later, she became famous in films and television shows.
She first appeared on screen in the 2013 horror film Siyaah. This role earned her a nomination for a Lux Style Award. Hareem also starred in popular TV shows like Mausam and Diyar-e-Dil. She even became a film producer, helping create movies like Janaan and Parchi. In 2018, she made history as the first female celebrity to host the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League.

Hareem Farooq was born in Islamabad, Pakistan, on May 26, 1989. She spent most of her childhood there. Later, her family moved to Karachi.
Her parents are both doctors. Her father is a public health expert. Her mother is a skin doctor, also known as a dermatologist. Hareem went to Karachi Grammar School for her early education. She then studied Sociology and Journalism at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad. After finishing her studies, she began her exciting career in acting. Singer Abdullah Qureshi is her cousin.
Her Acting Journey
Hareem Farooq started her acting career in 2012. She performed in theatre plays. She played important roles like Fatima Jinnah in Pawnay 14 August. She also played Jahan Ara Begum in Aangan Terha.
In 2013, Hareem made her first appearance in a movie. It was a horror film called Siyaah. The next year, she started acting on television. Her first TV show was Mausam. She acted alongside Ahsan Khan and Yumna Zaidi.
Hareem gained more recognition for her roles in romantic TV shows. These included Dusri Biwi and Mere Humdum Mere Dost. A big moment in her career was her role in Diyar-e-Dil. In this family drama, she played a character who grew from young to old. She also starred in Sanam. In this show, she played someone dealing with bipolar disorder.

Becoming a Producer
Besides acting, Hareem Farooq also became a producer in 2015. She teamed up with her childhood friend, Imran Raza Kazmi. He was also the producer of her first film. Together, they formed IRK Films.
Their first film as producers was Janaan. After that, they produced the successful film Parchi in 2018.
In 2018, Hareem also helped create a global entertainment company. It is called IHA Entertainment. This company soon partnered with a top entertainment group in Saudi Arabia. This made them the first distribution firm there.
Hareem is also known for being the first female celebrity to host the Pakistan Super League. She hosted the opening ceremony in Dubai in February 2018. She also became the official spokesperson for Loreal Professional in Pakistan in 2017.
