The Life of Hariprasad Vyas

Hariprasad Vyas was born on May 25, 1904. His birthplace was a small village called Bodka, near the city of Vadodara in Gujarat. He finished his school studies in Vadodara in 1921. Later, he worked as a manager at an insurance company. He started this job in 1925 and stayed there until he retired. Hariprasad Vyas passed away on July 13, 1980, in San Jose, California, in the United States.

Hariprasad Vyas created many beloved characters for children's books in the Gujarati language. Some of his most famous characters include Bakor Patel, Shakri Patlani, Vaghjibhai Vakil, Untadiya Doctor, Hathishankar Dhamdhamiya, and Bhotvashankar.

He wrote funny stories about Bakor Patel for a children's magazine. This magazine was called Gandiv, and it came out twice a month. It was published from Surat between 1936 and 1955. Later, these popular stories were collected and published as books.
