Harrison Farber facts for kids
Harrison "Hap" Farber is a Professor of Medicine and a top doctor at Boston University. He leads the Pulmonary Hypertension Center there. This means he helps people who have a special kind of high blood pressure in their lungs.
Before becoming a doctor, Dr. Farber went to Duke University. He even lived in Belgium for a while and was part of a cycling team there! After that, he went to medical school at George Washington University. He then trained at the Medical College of Virginia. He specialized in lung and critical care medicine at Boston University. He also did extra research at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.
Dr. Farber used to be a Professor at Boston Medical Center. He worked in the intensive care unit and helped patients with lung problems. He also made sure all patients with pulmonary hypertension at Boston Medical Center received the best care. Today, he is in charge of a special team at Tufts New England Medical Center. This team, called PERT, helps people quickly when they have a serious lung blood clot.
