Havelian (حویلیاں) is a big town in the Abbottabad District of Pakistan. It is the second largest municipality in this area. Havelian is also the main town for Havelian Tehsil. The name "Havelian" means "mansions" in English. Near the town, there is a large factory called Pakistan Ordnance Factories Havelian. This factory makes important things for the country. There is also a storage place for these items nearby.

Where is Havelian?
Havelian is found along the famous Karakoram Highway. It sits right next to the Dor River. The town is about 15.5 kilometers southwest of Abbottabad.
Getting Around Havelian
In Havelian, people use different ways to travel. You can find auto rickshaws and modified Suzuki pickup vehicles. These pickups can carry about 8 to 13 people at once. Taxis are also available if you want to hire a car. Vans and buses often connect Havelian to nearby cities and towns.
New Motorway Project
A new road project called the Hazara Motorway is being built. This road is part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. It is a 60-kilometer, four-lane highway. This motorway will make travel much faster. It will reduce the drive from Islamabad to Havelian to only 30 minutes.
The Hazara Motorway will also connect to the Havelian Dry Port project. This port will help with trade and goods. These projects are expected to create many jobs. They will also bring new business ideas. This will help the whole region grow and improve.
Local Road Plans
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Parveez Khattak, announced more road plans. These include a bypass from Havelian to Damtor. Another bypass will connect Havelian city to Havelian Village. A network of new roads is also planned for the Havelian area.
Train Station
Havelian is the very last train station when you travel to the northern parts of Pakistan. It is the end point of a railway line.
In 2007, experts looked into building a train link to China. This railway line would cross the very high Khunjerab Pass. This pass is 4,730 meters tall.
