The Haworth Art Gallery is a special place in Accrington, Lancashire, England. It's a public art gallery that holds the biggest collection of Tiffany glass in Europe. This amazing glass comes from the studio of Louis Comfort Tiffany. The building itself is a beautiful house built in 1909. It was designed in a style called Tudor architecture, which looks like old English houses.
Originally, the house was the home of William Haworth, who made textiles. A famous architect named Walter Brierley designed it. In 1920, William Haworth gave the house to the people of Accrington. Today, it sits in a large park with nine acres of land, just south of Accrington Town Centre.

What is Tiffany Glass?
The Haworth Art Gallery has the largest collection of Tiffany glass outside the United States. There are about 140 pieces, showing almost every type of Tiffany glass. This includes special Favrile glass tiles, jewels, and even mosaics.
How the Tiffany Collection Arrived
This incredible collection was a gift from Joseph Briggs. He was a design apprentice who left Accrington when he was 17. Joseph moved to the United States and started working for Louis Comfort Tiffany around 1892. He worked there for 40 years! In 1933, Joseph sent his amazing Tiffany collection back home to Accrington.
Exploring the Tiffany Collection
You can see the Tiffany collection displayed all the time in four special rooms. Each room has a different theme. These themes are 'Tiffany and Interior Design', 'Tiffany and the Past', 'Tiffany and Nature', and 'The Tiffany Phenomenon'.
One of the highlights is a group of over 70 vases. Some of these are 'Millefiore Paperweight' vases, which look like colorful paperweights. Others are 'Intaglio' or cut-glass examples. There are also 'flowerform' vases that look like flowers, and even vases shaped like vegetables! You can also see 'Cypriote' and 'Tel-El-Amarna' vases. These were inspired by old designs from Roman and Egyptian times. The gallery also has samples from decorative projects Joseph Briggs worked on, like his 'Sulphur-crested Cockatoos' mosaic.
Other Art at the Gallery
Besides the famous Tiffany glass, the museum also has many other artworks. It has a collection of oil paintings and watercolours. Most of these paintings are from the 1800s. You can see works by artists like Frederic, Lord Leighton, Claude Joseph Vernet, and John Frederick Herring.
