Healy is a small community in Lane County, Kansas, in the United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP) because the government counts its population, even though it doesn't have its own local government like a city. In 2020, about 195 people lived in Healy.

Healy's History

Healy began as a stop and shipping point for the Missouri Pacific Railroad. This railroad helped move goods and people across the country. The first post office in Healy opened its doors in 1887.

Where is Healy?

Healy is located in Cheyenne Township, Kansas. It sits on K-4, a state highway. The community is about 16 miles (26 km) east of where K-4 meets U.S. Route 83. It is also 9 miles (14 km) west of a town called Shields.

If you travel on K-4 and K-23, Healy is about 17 miles (27 km) northwest of Dighton. Dighton is the main town, or county seat, for Lane County.
